For the first time in the storied history of Brighton Speedway, the track will host the DIRTcar Sportsman and DIRTcar 358 Modified Series. The events will take place during the annual Cool 100 Applefest Shootout Weekend on September 21st and 22nd 2012 brought to you by Benson Auto Parts.

The Sportsman Series was on the schedule last season, but a late afternoon rain as cars were arriving forced track officials to cancel. This year, the Sportsman division will return and the addition of the DIRTcar 35Modified Super Dirt Series will make this years Applefest Weekend a year to remember.

“We are very excited to host the DIRTcar Sportsman and 358 Modified Super Dirt Series for the first time this year”, says Brighton Speedway owner and promoter Mark Rinaldi. “We host the Modifieds just once a year, and for that to be a DIRTcar Super Dirt Series race, with all of the top drivers coming to our track is very exciting to all of us”.

The opening portion of this year’s Applefest Shootout opens on Friday, September 21st. The Vintage Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Comp 4 and Stingers will join DIRTcar Sportsman Super Dirt Series 35 Lap main event.

On Saturday night, September 22nd, the mighty 358 Modifieds take center stage for a 100 lap Benson Auto Parts Applefest Shootout, joined by Late Models, Canadian Modifieds and a $1000 to win Street Stock Dual in the Dirt event featuring the Brighton Street Stocks vs. Merrittville Speedway Street Stocks.
