Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series Announces 2012 Race Schedule
After a successful inaugural season in 2011, The Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series is back again in 2012 with a strong six race schedule that will see exciting events in Northern New York State and Ontario, Canada.
The Series will open with its first race at the immaculate Mohawk International Raceway on Friday, June 8th. From there, the series will then move back to Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park just two weeks later on Thursday, June 21st. The series will then remain idle throughout the summer before resuming on September 8th at the 2nd annual Great Crate Race at Brighton Speedway for the first Canadian stop on the tour. The following week, the series will head back to Mohawk International Raceway for a special weekend event, with $1000 to win main events on Friday, September 14th and Saturday, September 15th. The 2012 schedule for the Go Nuclear Series will conclude as part of the Brockville Ontario Speedway Northeast Fall Nationals on Friday, October 12th.
“We have a great schedule put together for 2012 and we are really excited to get the season underway. We are tremendously excited about the addition of races at Brighton Speedway, Brockville Speedway, and Mohawk Raceway”, says Series coordinator Shayne Tenace. “I would like to express a very sincere thank you to the tracks hosting our series events and the tracks that support local weekly late model racing. Without both, our series would clearly not be possible.”
Over the off-season, the Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series named Joel Herne chief technical inspector for the upcoming season. Joel brings a wealth of experience to the table, being the current technical inspector for Mohawk International Raceway and having performed the same role at Cornwall Speedway and Super Dirt Week. He has extensive practical experience using the Cam Doctor and various other inspection techniques. Joel will have the final say on any series technical decision.
“I believe that bringing Joel to the series provides a tremendous boost”, says Shayne Tenace. “A sanctioning body or set of rules is only as good as your ability to consistently inspect and enforce them”.
New for the 2012 season are several new programs for the fans and tracks. First amongst them is the introduction of “The Atomic Power Racing Hour” television program being produced as part of the series. This television program will feature the Go Nuclear! Late Model Series events on Time Warner Sports. The program, being produced in a partnership with Hot Wings Media, will feature a lot of excitement on the track, including in-car cameras, behind the scenes action, and special track promotions/games for the fans – giving the fans a chance to be part of the television experience while winning some prizes to boot.
Joining the television program will be an enhanced version of our driver Frisbee toss, where the lucky fan who catches the autographed Frisbee of the winning driver will win a $50 visa gift card. “Our goals for the series are really quite simple, “ says Shayne, “we want to offer great racing, the fullest fields of late models, and a fantastic fan experience, while providing unparalleled value to the fans and tracks”.
The Go Nuclear Series is proud to associate ourselves with our many fine sponsors, without whom we could not be successful. We would like to thank Lias Tire, Bilstein Shock Absorbers, Atomic Chassis, Tenacious Racing, Ed Carley Motorsports, Bernheisel Race Cars and Finish Line Web Design for their support, as each company is an integral part of the success of our Series. We also want to thank the fans and competitors for their continued support this season.
Today, more than ever, motorsports offers one of the most unique and effective opportunities to promote and sell products and services. Compared to other programs, motorsports marketing offers diverse demographics, economical promotional programs and a significant return on investment. The Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series is currently seeking additional sponsors and marketing partners for the 2012 season.
