Five weekly divisions will be in action as well as the Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Car club for their first appearance of the season.

ComfortZoneHeatingLogoThe Vanderlaan Building Products Pro Late Models will headline the show with a 30-lap main event. Charlie Sandercock (No.57 Bellevue Fabricating) won the main event last Saturday night, his third this season. Sandercock is the current points leader with a 70-point cushion over Steve Baldwin (No.5, who has finished second to Sandercock each of the last two weeks. Phil Potts (No.29 Vanderlaan), Matt Vanderlinden (No.09 Integra Racing Shocks), and Adam Turner (No.92 Village Variety) complete the top-five in the standings.

On the strength on his third win in as many weeks, Andrew Hennessy (No.87 Custom Automotive) sits atop the OilGARD Anti-Rust Canadian Modified standings. The current spread ahead of defending champion Ryan Scott (No.33 J&J Automotive) is 30-points. Its likely to remain close as the two drivers have battled hard together over the last two weeks. Scott continues to search for his first victory of the season. Dan Ferguson (No.11 Kilmarnock Enterprise), Adam Whaley (No.12 John’s Equipment), and Doug O’Blenis (No.32 John’s Car Care) currently hold spots three to five in the championship chase.

After one week to retool, the Brighton Automotive Pro Stocks return to the track this week. Defending champion Doug Anderson (No.72 Hunt’s Bobcat Service) has scored three wins so far this year, while Justin Ramsay (No.03 Empey Tire) picked up his second win last time out of the box. Leslie Mowat (No.2 Cormer’s Auto Recycling) has been knocking on victory’s doorstep this year and currently sits 95 markers behind Anderson for the division lead. Ramsay currently sits third. Wade Purchase (No.53 Paul Turner Auto Repair) is on the upswing in fourth while Jamie Marshall (No.55 C&L Upholstery) is fifth in the standings.

The Bill’s Johns Comp 4s saw a new face in victory lane last Saturday as Rich Sanders (No.29 Fowl Mood Racing) won his first feature event in 20 years of competition. ‘The Colonel’ was lightening quick in the win that pushed him in to the points lead, 85 notches above three-time winner Brady Greer (No.94 Greer Excavating). After missing a week due to damage sustained on June 7, Terry Hough (No.32 The Vinyl Solution) remains third. Shelby Mills (No.78 ABC Taxi) and Emily Weedman (No.87 Nate’s Auto Cosmedix) are tied for fourth.

The Quinte Septic Stingers will return to the speedway after a one-week hiatus. Del MacGregor (No.19 R.Ward Construction) has won each of the three features so far this season. Jordan Pickell (No.93 Sowerby Signs) has been among MacGregor’s toughest contenders, but remains 155 points back of the division lead. Christopher Lammle (No.95 Lammle Repair) is third while teammates Megan Golden (No.07 Ontario Duct Cleaning) and Rick Phillips (No.7 Ontario Duct Cleaning) round out the top five.

The Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club will also make its first appearance of the season at Brighton. The vintage style racecars always put on an interesting show that will give fans a blast from the past. The series will be back at Brighton on July 26.

The Pro Stock mechanics will also have the chance to try their hand behind the wheel at the conclusion of the night. The Mechanic’s Race gives any crewmember the opportunity to get behind the wheel of his driver’s car and experience the glory in a 10-lap dash.

Spectator gates will open at 5:30pm ahead of the 7:00pm start time. Hot laps will take place at 6:00pm.
